by Matthew West
Amelia Ducat is unwell.
Having voluntarily checked into a care home seven years ago, she has since been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.
A man from The Ministry has been dispatched to assess just how much of a security risk she now is. But with Ms Ducat no longer communicative and only having the briefest moments of clarity, he must rely on the many hours of interview recordings made by her physician.
Gradually, he pieces together a life less ordinary and struggles to make sense of what is real, and what is fantasy in her tall tales.
Papaver Rhoeas has been written with the blessing of Robert Banks Stewart. All profits from the sale of this book will be donated to Alzheimer’s Society.
